A special mention: there are many cited sources that have disappeared or will disappear over time if they are not saved. I believe this should be the mission of an institute for the study of communist crimes, if we had one. Dozens of articles, interviews, publications, recordings — all of these will be lost over time if there is no website that gathers them all in one place. România Liberă and Adevărul have changed their leadership, and I don’t know how much of their archive is still available online. Anyone can delete things from web.archive.org. WordPress blogs are ephemeral. At one point, I found an archive with hundreds of photos from those days. I saved a few of them because I didn’t have enough storage space. There were many on Flickr, but they disappeared when Flickr made some changes.
